Tamarindo's warm water, sandy bottom and gentle, consistent waves make it the perfect place to catch your first wave or level up your skills. Our experienced local instructors keep classes small and stay with you in the water the whole time, so every session is safe, fun and focused on real progress.
Choose a private 1 on 1 lesson for personal coaching, a semi private lesson to share with a friend, or a group lesson for a fun, social way to learn. Ready for more? Our 3, 5 and 7 day Tamarindo surf camps include a daily lesson, unlimited surfboard rental and pro surf photography, and our guided surf trips take you to Guanacaste's best breaks like Playa Negra, Avellanas, Playa Grande and Marbella.
Beginners to advanced surfers are all welcome.

5 STARS ALL AROUND. Sam and the crew at OHANA RENTALS are the only people to see for Golf cart or Motorbike rentals in Tamarindo. They were absolutely seamless to work with, willing and eager to help with anything from recommending the best place to get a street pincho to where to booking a fishing charter, surf trip or eco tour Sam is the man. He and his team of caring Ticos will steer you safely in the right direction. I have no reservations about recommending OHANA RENTALS to anyone visiting the Tamarindo area. Had an awesome experience renting my scooter from Sam at Ohana rentals, the scooter was in great condition and worked well to get around tamarindo and other nearby towns, Sam is a really nice guy to connect with as he helped book our surfing lessons, catamaran, and mangrove boat tour and has tons of other options available, easy to chat with and sends a quick payment link followed by confirmation and details, overall great experience and would definitely recommend getting in touch with him while you’re in tamarindo.

I'm glad to have met Sam. I was hoping to rent a basic scooter, which would have been sufficient. But it turns out that he is also a knowledgeable guide, whether you're looking for surf spots, tours, or places to eat. Ohana is a lot more than just scooters. There is a Pura Vida lifestyle here and Sam embodies this. If you're thinking to come thru Tamarindo, stop by, check out the bikes, and hear what he has to say. You'll be glad you did.

Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 7 days before. Cancel between 7 days and 48 hours before and you get half back. Inside 48 hours the operator has already committed the day, so there's no refund. If we cancel for weather or a boat problem, you choose another day or a full refund.

Samuel made renting a scooter with him extremely easy. He was very responsive and even picked up the scooter near my hotel to make my departure day smoother. Not only that, he recommended a dive shop to me for my first ever scuba dive which was fantastic. Will definitely work with him again when I return to Tamarindo
