One of our favorite experiences in Costa Rica! ❤️🐠 Ohana Project made our trip to Catalina Island so memorable. Getting to see marine life up close in its natural habitat was such a cool experience, and every time we went underwater, there was something new to discover. The team was welcoming, professional, and made the whole adventure enjoyable. If you’re staying in Tamarindo and looking for something fun to do out on the water, definitely add this to your list! We also got the chance to rent a scooter for the weekend and got around town super easily! Overall recommend trying this for transportation.

Ohana Project Tamarindo Dive/Snorkel ❤️ If you’re looking for an unforgettable snorkeling adventure while visiting Tamarindo, I can’t recommend Ohana Project’s Catalina Island snorkeling tour enough! The boat ride to Catalina Island was about 35–40 minutes and was comfortable and enjoyable. We loved that the tour had such a small group. While a few guests went scuba diving with the dive instructor, it was just my husband and me snorkeling, which meant we had our own dedicated snorkel guide, Camille, for the entire trip. Having her all to ourselves made the experience feel incredibly personal and allowed us to get the most out of every minute in the water. We completed two different snorkeling excursions around Catalina Island and were amazed by everything we saw. There were schools of colorful tropical fish everywhere, several sharks, an eel tucked into the rocks, and one incredible spotted ray that glided by so closely it almost felt like we could reach out and touch it. Every time we looked down there was something new to discover. Camille was absolutely fantastic. Her knowledge of the underwater world was incredible, and she seemed to know the name of every fish and sea creature we encountered (even if I couldn’t remember them all afterward!). She also took our GoPro to depths we couldn’t safely reach and captured amazing footage of shrimp feeding on the remains of a starfish—something we never would have been able to see on our own. Those videos are memories we’ll treasure forever. The captain was equally impressive, confidently navigating the boat and making us feel safe and comfortable throughout the trip, both on the ride out and while positioning the boat at each snorkeling site. From start to finish, this was a first-class experience. The small group, knowledgeable and friendly staff, abundant marine life, and personal attention made this one of the highlights of our Costa Rica vacation. If you’re considering a snorkeling trip from Tamarindo, Ohana Project is an outstanding choice. We would absolutely book another tour with them the next time we’re in Costa Rica!
