Discover the best scuba diving near Tamarindo at the Catalina Islands, a group of volcanic rock formations rising from the Pacific just a short boat ride offshore. These nutrient rich waters are home to giant manta rays, white tip reef sharks, spotted eagle rays, devil rays, schools of cownose rays and huge schools of jacks and grunts.
No certification? No problem. Beginners start with a pool session to learn the basics before diving in the ocean with a professional instructor, while certified divers head straight out to explore. Dives reach an average maximum depth of 70 to 80 feet over volcanic reefs, with visibility from 30 to 70 feet depending on the day and season. When there's a current, it's gentle, so you simply drift along and our boat picks you up at the end of the dive.
All dives follow PADI safety standards with experienced local dive professionals, making this the perfect Costa Rica scuba adventure for first time and experienced divers alike.

One of our favorite experiences in Costa Rica! ❤️🐠 Ohana Project made our trip to Catalina Island so memorable. Getting to see marine life up close in its natural habitat was such a cool experience, and every time we went underwater, there was something new to discover. The team was welcoming, professional, and made the whole adventure enjoyable. If you’re staying in Tamarindo and looking for something fun to do out on the water, definitely add this to your list! We also got the chance to rent a scooter for the weekend and got around town super easily! Overall recommend trying this for transportation.

Rented a Honda Navis, this was my favorite part of the trip I loved being able to get around town! I also was able to do a Scuba diving tour amazing experience all around 😊 highly recommend thank you for the fun time!

5 STARS ALL AROUND. Sam and the crew at OHANA RENTALS are the only people to see for Golf cart or Motorbike rentals in Tamarindo. They were absolutely seamless to work with, willing and eager to help with anything from recommending the best place to get a street pincho to where to booking a fishing charter, surf trip or eco tour Sam is the man. He and his team of caring Ticos will steer you safely in the right direction. I have no reservations about recommending OHANA RENTALS to anyone visiting the Tamarindo area. Samuel made renting a scooter with him extremely easy. He was very responsive and even picked up the scooter near my hotel to make my departure day smoother. Not only that, he recommended a dive shop to me for my first ever scuba dive which was fantastic. Will definitely work with him again when I return to Tamarindo
